Family, friends and partners gathered together to inscribe notes of gratitude and appreciation on the Oregon family home during the Walls of Honor ceremony.

Wounded veteran U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Dennet Oregon, his wife Katherine (Kat) and their two children are one step closer to moving into their new house from the Gary Sinise Foundation.

Despite still being under construction, that house may already feel like home. That’s because friends, family, loved ones and partners filled the home with messages of gratitude, love and appreciation during the recent Walls of Honor ceremony.

Joe Miranda, director of product management and chair of our Veterans' Network Employee Resource Group (ERG), attended the ceremony on behalf of JELD-WEN.

“The sacrifices Dennet and his family have made for this country are highly respected and not forgotten,” Joe said. “I was proud to represent JELD-WEN at the Walls of Honor ceremony in partnership with this amazing organization.”

In addition to donating windows and doors to the home, JELD-WEN also left a message for the Oregon family: “We are honored to help bring beauty and security to your home!” the wall inscription says. “Thank you for your service and sacrifice for this amazing country.”

Dennet and his family will move into one of the eight to 10 homes the Gary Sinise Foundation is building in 2024. This house marks the first with donations from JELD-WEN.
