JELD-WEN joins forces with Purple Heart Homes and Military Makeover

By donating windows crafted by its own veteran employees, JELD-WEN joined a community effort to bring new light and peace to the home of a Purple Heart recipient.

When U.S. Army veteran Sean Reeves and his wife Cecilia returned to their home in King, North Carolina, they were welcomed by more than just a renovation — they were embraced by a community of people who care. As part of the latest season of Military Makeover with Montel, JELD-WEN partnered with Purple Heart Homes to help transform the Reeves family’s home into a place of comfort, healing and pride.

The windows donated to the Reeves family home were manufactured in JELD-WEN's Ringtown, Pennsylvania facility.

Sean, a Purple Heart recipient, served his country with courage and resilience. After years of managing the physical and emotional toll of his service, he and Cecilia were selected for a home makeover that would give them the peace and functionality they deserve. JELD-WEN contributed by donating high-quality windows that now fill their home with natural light and a renewed sense of warmth.

But this donation wasn’t just about materials — it was about people. Several of the windows were manufactured by JELD-WEN employees who are veterans themselves. Their hands-on involvement added a deeply personal layer to the project, connecting those who have served with a fellow veteran in a meaningful and lasting way.

As the Reeves family settles into their refreshed home, the view through their new windows is more than just scenic — it’s a reflection of gratitude, service and the power of community.
