From the factory floor to the future of Swedish manufacturing, Emma Hallman leads with clarity, compassion and a commitment to empower teams.
As the first woman to serve as Plant Manager for JELD-WEN in Sweden, Emma Hallman leads Swedoor’s Forserum facility with a unique blend of operational excellence and people-centered values. Her approach is reshaping not just how things get done, but how people feel about their jobs and the value they bring to the team.
Emma describes her leadership as clear, authentic and deeply committed to her team. She emphasizes the importance of open communication, believing when people understand both the task and its purpose, they take greater pride and ownership in their work.
This philosophy is echoed across the organization. Charlotte Mattsson, VP & General Manager for JELD-WEN’s North Europe Region, views Emma Hallman as a standout example of the company’s leadership ideals. “Emma represents the kind of leadership we value at JELD-WEN Europe; authentic, collaborative, and focused on developing people as much as performance," Mattsson says. "Her work in Forserum is a great example of how strong leadership builds pride and inspires teams across our business."

At the Forserum plant, located in Sweden’s Småland region, Emma leads with intention and inclusivity. She ensures opinions are heard, from management meetings to the factory floor, and encourages her team to take ownership of their work.
“I challenge my managers to think about what they delegate and how they coach their teams,” she explains. “It’s not about solving everything yourself; it’s about helping others grow.”
Emma’s passion for manufacturing extends beyond the present. She’s committed to showing younger generations that the industry offers meaningful, long-term careers filled with opportunity and variety.
“I love working in manufacturing…It’s not dirty or outdated, it’s full of opportunity. We have a great environment and so many different roles to explore,” she says.
For Emma, pride in work means delivering on promises, with a positive attitude and a smile. “I’m proud of what we’re building here,” she says. “Not just doors, but a culture of teamwork, trust, and respect.”
